NUCHAL TRANSLUCENCY

FMF License Application

Before an operator can use the FMF software, he / she must be registered as an operator on the software. To do this, the operator must submit 5 recent images to the Nuchal Translucency Program with a cover letter requesting “license application”.

The operator is required to pass four out of five (4/5) images, thus achieving an overall pass mark of 80% to be included on a centre license.

The operator is expected to have a commitment to becoming fully credentialed. A license will not be reissued if there is no evidence that the operator is completing the certification process within 12 months of issue.

Image Submission Requirements

These requirements are in addition to those mentioned in the guidelines for the measuring of Nuchal Translucency, the 11-14 week scan.

  • De-identify all images (thermal and transparencies). Using scissors cut out the patient's name and site of scan (blocking out details with texta or white-out is not appropriate)
  • Date and time scan was performed to remain on image.
  • Each image is to be from a different patient.
  • Each image is to be from a patient scanned within the past 3 months
  • Images to be placed in order of date and time.
  • Thermal images pasted onto a plain (not letterhead), A4 sheet of paper and numbered .
  • Transparencies are to be (sticky)-taped inside a plastic sleeve and numbered . Three to four images per sleeve depending on size.
  • If you know your ID number record this on the sheet, if not place your name at the top of the sheet in pencil. Mark the sheet “License Application”. We aim to give the Assessors' audits and images that are de-identified to ensure unbiased and fair assessment.
  • If there are submission transgressions, the images will be returned.
