Certification for the Assessment of the Fetal Nasal Bone
We are now in a position to offer certification in the assessment of the fetal nasal bone for Australian operators who are licensed to perform the Nuchal Translucency scan. Unfortunately we will have to charge a fee to cover the costs for the Assessors and administration. The invoice is here. The Protocols for the assessment of the fetal nasal bone can be found here. The requirements for certification are available here. Images will be assessed by assessors who undertake intra and inter rater reliability exercises twice a year, the criteria and scoring method that will be employed in the assessment of nasal bone images can be found here. Also available is a list of reference articles for additional reading, please let us know if you require further information regarding these articles. Dr Andrew McLennan has kindly made available the PowerPoint presentation that he gave at the “Fetus as a Patient” meeting in Sydney March 2009 for additional information.
