Practical Examination
Final requirement for certification
The practitioner is required to satisfactorily complete a practical examination as the final requirement to certification in the Nuchal Translucency Program.
The practical examination is undertaken within the practice / clinic of a registered practical examiner.
The practitioner will be evaluated by an examiner who will observe the practitioner's method of scanning and then ask questions pertaining to the 11-14 week scanning process and specifically the measurement of the Nuchal Translucency of the fetus.
After satisfactory completion
Upon satisfactory completion of the practical examination:
- A Certificate of Competence is sent to the practitioner and they are then registered with the Nuchal Translucency Program as being fully credentialed.
- Fully credentialed operators are able to apply for a copy of the FMF software if they plan to set up a new centre.
